Detailed Description
An, unsurprisingly, amber-coloured dram from Macallan, part of the colour-named 1824 Series. It’s matured in sherry casks and chosen to be more fully flavoured than the Gold but more restrained than the Sienna. A great example of what Macallan can do with good-quality oak.
Macallan Amber 1824 Series Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: A delightfully complex spicy and perfumed nose.
Palate: There is a much greater presence of peat in the taste than the nose suggests. The smokiness quickly hits the palate and then tapers off.
Finish: Light and elegant as it ends, the last hint of smoke slowly fading out.
