Detailed Description

A very rare bottling of 1969 Glen Esk released to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their onsite maltings in the early 1990s. The distillery closed in 1985 and now operates purely as a maltings.

Nose: Very clean and appetising, with a gentle floral character.

Palate: There is a much greater presence of peat in the taste than the nose suggests. The smokiness quickly hits the palate and then tapers off.

Finish: Long and full of interesting flavors.

Glenesk started its life as a malt Whisky distillery, then evolved into a single grain Whisky distillery, then returned to a malt Whisky distillery once again.
