Detailed Description
The Gordon & MacPhail Discovery range examines the core flavours at the heart of Scotch single malt whisky, and this is the headline of the Smoky side of things. A 13-year-old Caol Ila from the island of Islay, this is as typical a dram as you can get from the island, packed with sweet fruit and dark peat smoke.
Caol Ila 13 Year Old Smoky G&M Discovery Range Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Sweet and savoury: dry-cured meats glazed with luscious apricot jam combines with rich vanilla notes. Flashes of softly swirling peat smoke complement the delicious sweetness.
Palate: Bursting with juicy tropical fruit – pineapple, kiwi, and banana – brushed softly with icing sugar. Light touches of malt and vibrant lemon peel balance the sweetness.
Finish: Long and luxurious with hints of sweet marshmallow toasting over gently smouldering bonfire embers.
