Detailed Description

A 1976 vintage Glenugie from indie bottler Douglas Laing as part of the Old Malt Cask series. Distilled the year after the distillery was purchased by brewers Whitbread and seven years before it closed for good.

Nose: Aroma is very pleasant.

Palate: This is extremely rich and very balanced in flavour.

Finish: The finish is surprisingly long and warming.

Distillery Information

The Glenugie distillery is a former producer of single malt Scotch whisky that operated sporadically and under a number of different owners between 1831 and 1983, when it closed for the final time. The distillery’s windmill tower is a Category B listed structure.
